After an extraordinary 20-year tenure as provost (following his fifteen years in the psychology department), Dr. Stan Jones has decided to step down as provost, effective at the end of the 2015-16 academic year. Although Provost Jones is irreplaceable in many ways, we are confident that God has been at work preparing someone exceptional to serve as our new provost.
We invite qualified candidates who may be interested in applying to review the position description for Wheaton’s next provost.
President Ryken has appointed a screening committee composed of Wheaton College faculty and administrators who will work with him in a process of discernment this fall. The committee will receive letters of interest and curriculum vitae through October 1, 2015. Interviews with select candidates will occur during the fall semester, and Dr. Ryken is hopeful that an appointment can be made by early spring semester.
We invite you to pray along with the Wheaton College community that we may glorify God and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in selecting our next provost.
