About Lee Joiner

Lee Joiner joined the Conservatory faculty as assistant professor of violin in 1983. Prior to this he was artist/teacher at the Blair School of Music of Vanderbilt University and violinist in the Blair String Quartet. Professor Joiner holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Eastman School of Music, where he worked with Sylvia Rosenberg: his Bachelors and Masters degrees are from the Juilliard School of Music where he studied with Dorothy Delay. Professor Joiner's responsibilities include applied violin, string pedagogy and orchestra sectionals. He is currently serving as Area Chair for the instrumental area. In addition, he is active as a soloist and chamber musician on campus and in the Chicago area.
