About Terry Schwartz

Dr. Schwartz has studied trumpet with Robert Nagel, Pierre Thibaud, John Swallow, Keith Clark, Arnold Jacobs, Phillip Jones and conducting with Gustav Meier, Fenno Heath and John Paynter. In addition to his work as professor of trumpet at Wheaton Conservatory he is active nationally and internationally as an orchestra and band adjudicator and soloist. He has performed as cornet and trumpet soloist throughout the United States, Britain, Eastern Europe and Russia. In 1997 Dr. Schwartz released a highly acclaimed recording titled Levy-Athan, the 19th century cornet solos of Jules Levy performed on a period instrument cornet. He has recently completed a trumpet method for beginners and teachers, Foundations of Trumpet Playing.
