About Sally Morrison

Dr. Morrison considers teaching as a special calling, since God entrusts children to parents and special care givers such as teachers. Her commitment to knowing children in order to help each one develop his or her own gifts, talents, and interests has led her through graduate schools and through service with children, families and teachers in both public and private schools. At Wheaton she challenges and participates in their journey of meaning-making with many undergraduate elementary education students as they learn how to teach reading while learning how to reach young children. Her literacy and curriculum expertise has supported a partner school in District U-46 through a recent Sabbatical. Beyond local partnerships, Dr. Morrison and a team of mentoring students engaged in curriculum development for HIV/AIDS prevention for schools in South Africa. She truly cherishes this life-long journey.

She has traveled this journey with two sons, one daughter-in-law, one granddaughter and a wonderful, talented husband, Glenn. Dr. Morrison and her husband are also actively engaged in a large Evangelical church in the Chicago area.
