What does a BGCSP award cover?
The answer to this question greatly depends on the particular award that you are interested in. We highly recommend you view the different scholarship options we have available to learn more about the specific details of each award to determine which is the one you qualify for, and also what exactly the award will cover during your time at Wheaton College.
Why are the BGCSP awards loan/scholarships?
The donors and honorees who provided the generous endowments were committed to missions and evangelism, and they had the vision to equip key leaders for significant ministry opportunities in order to strengthen the Church of Jesus Christ worldwide. This is the reason the BGCSP awards are loan/scholarships. The requirement for the scholarship recipients to serve in a ministry setting for a minimum of 4 years after they finish their programs at Wheaton College serves as an accountability measure to ensure that the vision of the original stewards of the scholarship funds is carried out. Once the 4 years of service have been completed, the recipients' loans will be completely forgiven, and become a 100% scholarship.
I am an international. Can I bring my family with me to Wheaton, with the help of this scholarship?
If you are an international, please know that the BGCSP will not cover all the extra costs involved with bringing your family to the United States. If you are offered an international award and decide to bring your family, a one time sum of $3,000 will be provided to you to help with some of the costs. This is the only additional help the BGCSP can provide toward the extra costs of bringing your family with you. If you decide to come alone and leave your family back in your country, the BGCSP will provide round trip transportation for you to return home for visits during the longer Christmas and summer breaks.
What is the deadline for scholarship application materials?
This depends on which scholarship you plan to apply for. For more details about this, we strongly encourage you to determine which scholarship you are eligible for, and then look at the specific deadline details of that scholarship under the Scholarships section.

No. The BGCSP does not have the applications available on our website. This is to ensure that only those who are eligible to apply for a scholarship receive an application. What will happen if I do not fulfill the requirements of the scholarship that I receive after I complete my studies at Wheaton College?
If you receive a BGC Scholarship, and do not fulfill the specific requirements of returning to, or beginning your overseas or urban ministry, then you will be required to repay the amount of funding you received from the BGCSP, as well as interest.
