M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Admissions Requirements

Admission to the M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling requires evaluation of the total applicant pool.

    • Fall enrollment only.
  2. Bachelor's Degree from a Regionally Accredited Institution.
  3. Minimum GPA 3.0.
  4. Twelve Credit Hours of Prerequisites (see below).

    • International students: Submit either the TOEFL (with TWE and TSE) or the IELTS instead of the GRE.
      • Paper -based TOEFL minimum: 600.
      • Internet-based TOEFL minimum: 100
  8. Official Transcripts from all previous colleges or universities attended.
  9. Four Recommendations.
    • Academic.
    • Pastoral (or other Christian leader).
    • Professional (employer).
    • Mental Health Professional (practicing therapist or psychology professor with doctorate).

10. Essays.

11. Resume.

12. Signed Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.

13. Application Processing Fee: $30, non-refundable.

Prerequisites (12 hrs.)

At least twelve semester hours in counseling, psychology, or a related field. Introductory or General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Research/Statistics are required courses (though they may be taught under other course titles), plus at least one of the following courses: (a) Human Development or Lifespan Development or (b) Theories of Counseling or Theories of Personality.
