Become a toymaker! Create your own whimsical crank operated toy with moving parts. Students will use wire, beads and other recyclable objects while learning about simple mechanics.

In this introduction to oil pastels as a painting medium, students will create two still life paintings while learning the basic principals of painting: shape, value, edges and color. Leave with a framed piece!

Draw the human form, stretching and distorting a subject’s facial features for humorous lampooning.  Students learn the fundamentals of the powerful art of caricature.

Create textile art! Learn to use dyes on silk fabric with wax resist methods to create artistic patterns. Various tools and application techniques help students create original hand painted pieces to frame or use in pillow fronts or quilt blocks.

Felted Wool Scarf artist Tammy Deck

Create a neck scarf, table runner or wall hanging through this fun and unusual process of wet felting. Bypassing all knitting and crochet, students work with hand-dyed, super soft, Targhee wool fiber. Learn how to lay out yarn and wool bits for the "tapestry" surface, layer the fiber (roving), wet it and work it into your finished piece.

Create your own beautiful, decorative metal pieces through this ancient craft, using various embossing tools on thin metal sheets, to create low relief designs.

This intro into watercolor focuses on working with paint, paper and water along with exercises in brush-handling, paint mixing, water control and materials for creating details. Photo reference will be provided in still life, architectural scenes, figurative, seascape and landscape images.
