Our flexible format degrees allow you to apply what you have learned in class immediately to your current ministry. The flexible coursework is delivered through one or more of the following formats:
- Intensive and modular courses
- Online courses
- Tutorial / independent study
Degrees Offered in Summers-Only Format
The Summers-Only programs also provides an opportunity for those in current careers to earn an M.A. through taking summer courses. This degree is particularly helpful for current teachers.
Listed below are programs that can be completed through a combination of distance learning and modular courses that are "intensive" 1-week or 3-4 week format. These courses meet every day for one week, either for half the day or the entire day. The student prepares by completing the course reading prior to the scheduled class time. A final exam as well as a paper that is submitted at a later date may be components of the course.
Degrees Offered in Year-Round Modular Format
The modular degrees offers week-long intensive courses several times during the academic year. The M.A. in Intercultural Studies offers a hybrid format, with a combination of online courses mixed with week-long intensives.
Degrees Offered as Part-time Evening Cohort
The M.A. in Biblical Studies degree is allows those who have to work during the day to complete their degree through night courses. It is offered in a cohort model where students stay together as a group throughout three years of study, taking weekly evening classes, one night per week, and two one-week intensive courses each year. The part-time cohort fosters a strong community of classmates who stay together throughout the program.
Degrees offered in the residential format are primarily completed through face-to-face courses on Wheaton College’s campus. Students complete their degree as full-time or part-time students.
