- B.S. in Youth Ministry & Outdoor Recreation Ministry, Grace University, 1995
I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Grace University in 1995 where I studied Youth Ministry and Outdoor Recreation Ministry. I grew up in a Christian home, submitted my life to Christ at age four, and have had crucial building blocks in my spiritual formation. These "trail markers" happened at camps and in church ministry internships to solidify my faith in God's word and His calling on my life to be a 2 Timothy 2:2 leader.
I started pursuing Ministry as a profession after an internship at Camp Forest Springs in Wisconsin, primarily because of the way I was impacted by those who were leading and teaching me. I felt compelled to give back what had been entrusted to me by faithful mentors and leaders. When I started as a trail guide in Colorado in 1994, I was moved by the lasting impact a wilderness trip can have both individually and corporately. I have led many backcountry trips and can not get enough of what God does differently on every trip. Up to this point I have held positions as a Youth Pastor, Wilderness Guide, Raft Guide, Wilderness Director, Youth Camp Director and Fire/Wilderness EMT.
I serve at HoneyRock as the Adventure Ministry Program Manager. Serving here gives me great joy because I have the opportunity to be a part of seeing God become the center of attention, and His Word prove itself faithful in forming the character needed to navigate our changing culture and prepare students for a lifetime of ministry.
