Rachel Self

Graduation year: 2015

Hometown: Cincinnati, OH

Major: Art: Graphic Design Concentration

Position on CU: Graphic Designer

Involvement at Wheaton: Gospel Choir Cabinet, DSG, IM soccer

Why CU? I chose to be involved in College Union because I love the joy and energy this group brings to campus, and how as a team they create an environment where students feel the freedom to rest from work and have fun!

What’s your favorite place on campus to connect with friends? I love grabbing a smoothie or ice cream with friends at Sam’s on the weekends and just catching up.

How would you describe the dinner hour in Anderson Commons to someone outside of the Wheaton Community? Mildly chaotic but full of fun, fellowship and good food.

If you had to perform in the Talent Show what would your act be and who would be in it? I would sing with my roommate Annie and be supported by an acoustic guitar and piano.

Favorite CU event and why? Air Jam: it’s fun, goofy, and always a good time.

How has the community at Wheaton impacted you? I have been impacted by being blessed with friends who let me be vulnerable, challenge me, and push me to run hard after Christ.  I look forward to seeing how these relationships continue to grow and develop over these next few years.

What are your plans for after Wheaton? After Wheaton, I hope that wherever God has me I am using my passions for art and people to glorify the Creator.
