Barb Nussbaum

Student Engagement Program Coordinator

B.A. Wheaton College 1988

Coordinating multiple projects on behalf of Student Engagement, Barb especially enjoys working with students to plan and program Orientation Week.  She oversees the Student Activities website & media team, manages the logistics of the student leader retreat at HoneyRock, and supports the work of Steve Ivester, Dean for Student Engagement, as well as all five of our student organizations. Before she joined the SAO staff in January of 2008, she spent the previous six years on staff at College Church as a ministry associate for Children's Ministry. As a student leader during her time at Wheaton College, Barb knows first hand the importance of student development at a Liberal Arts College. In her role as the Student Engagement Program Coordinator, Barb sees the importance of working closely with student leaders to help them accomplish their goals while gaining valuable leadership experience.

Barb's family is at the center of life. She is married to Tom (BA '88 ) who is a math teacher, football and basketball coach at Glenbard South High School. With Claire and Jake still in high school, she keeps involved with their activities at school and church. Katie graduated from Wheaton in May and Ben continues the family legacy as a junior. Together, they love to spend time at the family cottage in Eagle River, WI, across the lake from HoneyRock, where they enjoy sailing, swimming, tubing, and waterskiing.
