Student Government

Carter Harms

Graduation year: 2016

Hometown: Southlake, TX

Major: Political Science and Business/Economics

Position on SG:  Sophomore Class President

Why SG? I got my first taste of SG freshmen year as the event coordinator for our class. After that I knew that I loved SG because of all the potential change it could enact. I ran for Sophomore Class President because I knew that this year will be full of challenges for the class and it would be exciting to get to be a part in helping address whatever comes our way.

About Me: I am a fifth-generation Texan and grew up outside of Dallas. I have a twin brother, one older brother, two younger brothers, and two dogs. None of my family went to Wheaton, but I hope that my coming here changes that. After Wheaton, I hope to work for a non-profit or maybe help out with a political campaign.

Why Wheaton? I chose Wheaton because I really wanted to go to an authentic Christian college, but I was not willing to sacrifice my education for it. While I was skeptical of the size of Wheaton, its reputation of academic excellence and amazing people got me to apply. Now that I am here, I can honestly say that the size of the school is my favorite attribute of Wheaton.

What would you like to see happen as a result of being on Student Government this year? I would love to see a deeper understanding how we can embrace Christian community.

When you’re not studying or working on projects, where can we find you on campus?  Fischer 3E

Describe Wheaton in three words:  driven, transformational, adventure

Favorite Wheatonism: CFA

Most memorable experience at Wheaton: Spending my summer at HoneyRock being a camp counselor.

What makes Wheaton unique? How passionate we are about integrating faith and learning.

How has the Wheaton Community impacted you? It has taught me a lot about vulnerability.
