Chris Anderson

Graduation Year: 2015

Hometown: Alovera, Spain

Major: Computer Science

Position on SG:  Junior Class VP

About Me: At the age of three I was shipped off to Spain to begin a life alongside my parents on the mission field. There, I grew up with my two younger brothers, living the Spanish life as well as occasionally returning to the USA to maintain a sense of connection to life here. Fast forward to Wheaton - I am currently majoring in Computer Science while pursuing a career of Mobile and Web Development, something I've been passionate about since I was fourteen.

Why Wheaton? I grew up wanting to come to Wheaton. The home office for the mission organization my parents were with was based in Wheaton and because of that I had attended multiple conferences on the Wheaton Campus. Sophomore year I had a tour of the campus and didn't like it. For the next year I made up my mind that I did not want to attend a Christian college and did not give Wheaton another thought until my parents invited a Wheaton representative that was doing visits of schools in Europe to our home for dinner. That night he convinced me of the unique mix of liberal arts studies and Christ-centeredness that the school offered, and here I am.

What would you like to see happen as a result of being on Student Government this year? I would like to improve the connectedness of students to one another, increase intra-class mixing and socializing as well as improve students’ lives through the greater use of technology on campus.

Favorite Wheatonism: CFA

How has the Wheaton Community impacted you? It has pushed me to use my God-given skills and provided me with an outlet to express and be who I am.
