Wheaton College believes it is essential for all students to be protected against high costs for accidents, illnesses or ongoing health needs. Therefore, Wheaton College practices a “hard waiver” insurance program. This simply means that every student is required to show proof of health insurance.
The College offers a Student Health Plan through Gallagher Koster that will provide worldwide protection to help cover the costs of treatment for an injury or sickness or preventative medical needs. All special students taking nine or more credit hours and degree seeking students are automatically enrolled and billed a six month premium to their student accounts for the Wheaton College Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) unless they verify that they have comparable coverage. All students must complete the online waiver if they choose not to enroll.
