Currently Wheaton College does not offer an Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant student health insurance plan for students who are U.S. citizens.
Please reference this Student Health Insurance website for recommended guidelines and requirements to ensure that the student is adequately insured while on Wheaton College main campus or while studying at another domestic program or internationally. Some students may also have specific insurance requirements based on program involvement, such as Athletics.
Students with an F1 Visa who have not lived in the United States for five years* or more are required to be enrolled in a unique accident and illness plan designed to offer the most coverage at the lowest price for international visa students that will be effective August 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017. Enrollment is automatic so no action is required by the student. For more information, please see Frequently Asked Questions and Schedule of Benefits.
Information and resources can be found throughout this Student Health Insurance website and on the Wheaton College Student Portal under Help and Resources, Student Health Insurance Education and Resources.
If you have general insurance questions please e-mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wheaton College continues to monitor new information on the national level that may impact health insurance options for domestic and international students for the 2017-2018 academic year.
