Compiling your portfolio gives you an opportunity to remember what you learned and how you grew during your time here. It also gives the faculty the chance to see where you are on target in your training and note areas that need improvement. Whether you are applying to mission agencies or looking for a job in the secular world, having a portfolio that displays your knowledge and abilities will be a huge help during the application process. It is to your benefit to develop a portfolio as part of your graduation requirements. The portfolio is essentially a collection of materials you develop while taking the program.
