If you are interested in the work of The Marion E. Wade Center and the writings of the seven authors, we invite you to become a Friend of the Wade through direct financial support.
Currently, the Wade Center is only partially supported by its endowment. The remaining portion of our operating budget is dependent upon donations from friends, visitors, and users. Resources supported by Friends of the Wade include the research library, archives, and museum, which are the heart of the Wade Center, in addition to educational programs provided by Wade staff locally, around the country, and internationally. The Friends of the Wade have also underwritten special projects such as outfitting the Wade Center's museum with an audio-visual kiosk, and endowing Martha's Table, a hospitality fund named in honor of Martha Kilby.
Gifts can be made in any amount, and can be given regularly or on a one-time basis. All gifts are acknowledged with a receipt as a tax-deductible gift to Wheaton College. Friends of the Wade receive a newsletter in the spring and autumn, and occasional other information related to Wade Center acquisitions, publications and events.
Thank you for considering joining with us as one of the Friends of the Wade.
The Wade Center welcomes 10,000 visitors and researchers a year who are interested in its renowned collections of seven British authors. Our Wade Center volunteers allow us to staff the center during Saturday morning hours and for special events. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy interacting with visitors, and who are readers of these authors or would like to learn more about them. We encourage a monthly commitment, but are open to making arrangements that will suit your schedule. If you are interested in how you might volunteer, contact Head of Public Services Heidi Truty for more information.
