The 2020 HNGR Symposium Has Been Cancelled
Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus situation, this year's HNGR Symposium has been cancelled. We are considering virtual alternatives and will communicate more information once this has been confirmed.
HNGR Spring Symposium
The Human Needs and Global Resources Program at Wheaton College will host the Spring Symposium, titled From Swords to Plowshares: Training for Peace to Live Justly, on March 26, 2020. The Spring Symposium will explore the timely and critical work of building peaceful, just, and inclusive societies in a world where divisiveness, violence, and social exclusion regularly threaten human well-being and community.
A special focus of this year’s Symposium will be on the efforts of leaders and people across the Americas who are working to strengthen peace and foster democratic civic engagement in their communities. The Human Needs and Global Resources Program is pleased to introduce Dr. Vilma “Nina” Balmaceda, who will deliver the Symposium plenary lecture titled, "Working for Justice and Sowing Peace in a Violent World" on Thursday, March 26, at 7:00 pm.
