Wade Center Visitor Information

The Wade Center is open to the general public as well as the Wheaton College community. There is no admission fee.

Visitors are encouraged to complete our Museum and Bookshop Visit Form. Groups of 10 or more are required to complete the form 3 weeks in advance to give advanced notice to the Wade Center. Those wanting to spend time in the Reading Room to use materials from the Wade Center's collections should review our Reading Room Appointments page.

Parking, Directions, and Transportation Options

Designated Wade Center visitor parking is available across the street from the Wade Center in the parking lot north of Edman Chapel. If this area is full, you may park in the "W" portion of the lot. Parking in the "W" areas may result in a non-registration notice. Visitors may return this notice to the Parking Office at no charge. A researcher or visitor planning to visit one week or more at the Wade Center is eligible to receive a temporary parking permit by contacting the Wheaton College Parking Office (630.752.5558). Buses may also park in the Edman parking lot provided that space is available. See the Visiting Groups page for more information on school field trips and special interest group visits.

The Wade Center is located on the campus of Wheaton College at 351 E. Lincoln Avenue, on the corner of Lincoln and Washington streets. See the Wheaton College Campus Map and Information page for campus maps, driving directions, and transportation options.

Rooms

Wheaton College owns a guest home called "Harbor House" which is directly across the street from the Wade Center (510 N. Washington St.) and may accommodate Wade Center visitors as room allows. Contact Kristin Maagaard, the Harbor House caretaker, at 630.752.7321 for more information.

Hotels

See the Wheaton College Lodging page for more details. No hotels are within walking distance of the college. The closest ones are in Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, and Naperville.

Campus Dining

Bon Appétit/Anderson Commons Dining Hall is located in the Beamer Center and serves full meals, including salad and sandwich bars. Hours vary by season. The Stupe and Sam's are located on the lower level of the Beamer Center, and serve pizza, burgers, ice cream, sandwiches, bagels, yogurt, coffee, baked goods, and snacks. Local Restaurants

There are several restaurants within walking distance of the college in downtown Wheaton. Visitors with a car will find a variety of dining establishments available within a short drive. See the Downtown Wheaton website for more information. Fast food chains and other restaurants are located on N. Main Street past Geneva Rd., but require transportation.

The Wheaton College Post Office (CPO) is located in the lower level of the Beamer Center. See their webpage for hours and contact information.

A branch of the United States Postal Service is within walking distance in Downtown Wheaton at 122 N. Wheaton Ave.
