Public Sector Unions

Governor Walker’s successful recall vote, fueled by his challenge of public sector unions and Illinois’ current public sector pension crisis both demonstrate a strong need for an informed discussion on public sector unions.  On Thursday evening, November 15, Max Schanzenbach shared his findings published for the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

Max SchanzenbachMax Schanzenbach joined the Northwestern faculty in 2003 as an Assistant Professor of Law, also serving in the spring of 2008, as the Bruce W. Nichols Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. He received his JD from Yale Law School and his PhD (economics) from Yale. His work has appeared in leading law reviews, such as the Yale Law Journal and the University of Chicago Law Review, as well as law and economics journals, such as the Journal of Legal Studies, the Journal of Law and Economics, and the Journal of Law, Economics, & Organization. Schanzenbach clerked on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals for Judge Alan E. Norris.
