Bruce Wydick is professor of economics and international studies at the University of San Francisco, receiving his Ph.D. in economics in 1996 at U.C. Berkeley. His research in development economics applies game-theory, experimental and empirical methods to an understanding of poverty issues and the evaluation of development programs. He is the lead investigator of the worldwide impact study of Compassion International’s child sponsorship program, appearing in the University of Chicago’s Journal of Political Economy. Wydick has also published his findings in Christianity Today in an article entitled, “Want to Change the World? Sponsor a Child.”
