Accord Webinar on Gender Mainstreaming in Christian Development Organizations, February 2025
In advance of the special issue on gender mainstreaming coming out in Christian Relief, Development, and Advocacy, authored by members of the Wheaton Network, the Accord Research Network hosted a webinar. Participants included co-editors of the issue, Dr. David Bronkema (Eastern) and Dr. Amy Reynolds, alongside one of the article's co-authors, Jackline Odhiambo (Nyanam, Widows Rising, Kenya).
6th Gender, Development and Christianity Consortium, September 2024
Approximately 20 practitioners and scholars convened to talk about next steps towards gender equity in the sector, including increased resources for missional actors, shared research, and the upcoming special journal issue of the Accord journal around gender equality.
Christian Alliance for Inclusive Development Gatherings, June 2024
Hosted by Eastern University under the leadership of Dr. Beth Birmingham, the Christian Alliance held the Belonging Conference for women and men interested in seeing increased gender equity in the development sector, as well as Beyond Talk, an event around donor action.
Virtual Panel as side event at the CSW UN Meetings, March 2024
The network hosted a virtual panel, "Theological Commitments Towards Gender Equity," with panelists Eeva Sallinen Simard (World Relief), Clemence Nkulikiyinka (World Relief Rwanda), Dr. Mimi Haddad (Christians for Biblical Equality), and Dr. Amy Reynolds.
Co-Hosted 50th Anniversary of the Chicago Declaration of Evangelical Social Concern, November 2023
Alongside Christians for Social Action, the Wheaton Network hosted an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Chicago Declaration of Evangelical Concern signed in 1973. Held at Wheaton College, this event brought together some original signers, as well as revisited the four pillars of the document dealing with the the problems of sexism, racism, militarism, and economic inequality.
5th Gender, Development and Christianity Consortium, April 2023
This meeting convened actors in the Christian development space to share research and writings connected to gender equality in development spaces, in preparation for a shared publication. Papers were shared and workshopped.
Inaugural Meeting for the Christian Alliance for Inclusive Development, October 2022
The Wheaton Network Initiative was involved in supporting/participating in the creation of the Christian Alliance for Inclusive Development in Denver in October 2022 - practitioners from around the globe attended.

Accord Forum, October 2019
Dr. Amy Reynolds (alongside Eeva Sallinen Simard of BE Development Partners) presented the first version of the Principles for Gender Equality in Development to the Accord Forum in North Carolina (an umbrella group of Christ-centered relief and development organizations).
