Anthropology, Sociology, and Urban Studies Internships

Applying our disciplines outside the classroom

In our disciplines, internships are meant to provide professional experience in such a way as to provide a connection between professional life and the conceptual and theoretical framework of the majors. Student internships can provide service learning opportunities that allow students to experience professional roles and engage in organizational socialization. As a result, students can visualize tangibly how and why practical circumstances, social problems, and/or neglected human needs relate to social science inquiry.

These links below represent organizations that our majors have used for both credit and non-credit internships. These have been located in the Chicagoland area, across the United States, and all around the world. This list is by no means exhaustive of your opportunities. These locations are a good place to start, but don't be limited by these choices.

For information on the requirements for academic credit for your internship, please visit the Sociology & Anthropology office.
