“Learning from the city for the good of Chicago and beyond”
Want to be more than just a visitor in Chicago?
Wheaton in Chicago (WIC) is a semester-long experiential urban studies program based in the Chicago neighborhood of Woodlawn. The program is open to students of any major or concentration during both fall and spring semesters.
Wheaton in Chicago exists to facilitate formative experiences that foster an abiding love for cities and hope for their flourishing. We do this by studying, living, working, and worshiping in Chicago while remaining deeply rooted in Woodlawn, our local neighborhood. We believe in the transformative power of place for developing students as leaders, servants, and contributors to shalom in our increasingly urban world.

"I don't think I have ever grown more in my sense of self and vocation than I have during this semester at WIC. The support from staff, cohort, and supervisors has been phenomenal in allowing me to engage deeply with the world around me and ask meaningful questions.”
