Mathematics Learning Outcomes

As a result of completing the Mathematics program at Wheaton College, students will achieve the following learning outcomes:

1. Problem Solving. Students are able to apply a correct mathematical approach to solve a problem with precision and accuracy.
2. Interdisciplinary Application. Students demonstrate the ability to apply a mathematical approach to solve a problem in another field.
3. Proof Construction. Students demonstrate the ability to construct a rigorous mathematical proof.
4. Computation. Students are proficient in using computational tools to analyze data and solve mathematical problems.
