On April 3, 2018, students from the Physics and Engineering department visited the LaSalle, IL Nuclear Power Generating Station. Students were hosted by Wheaton alum Erick Bodett (Mechanical Engineering ’13), a Chief Maintenance Officer at the station. There, they observed various aspects of nuclear power generation. Photos were taken earlier during a planned shutdown and show the low-pressure turbine out for inspection. Erick is also seen suited up for maintenance tasks.
