The Master of Arts in Leadership (LEAD) exists to equip men and women with knowledge, spiritual understanding and practical skills to lead in a culturally diverse world. 

Wheaton College is offering  the M.A. in Leadership program to leaders throughout Europe.  Classes are taught  in Eastern and Central Europe, on campus at Wheaton College and online. LEAD is a Christ-centered and intentionally practical leadership development program. This program is available to anyone doing work in Central and Eastern Europe. 

The curriculum builds on three foundations of effective leadership:

• Knowledge of evidence-based leadership research and theory.
• Spiritual maturity to discern truth and practice grace.
• Practical skills for leading and growing organizations.

LEAD offers Christ-centered, research-based and practical leadership training to help you grow as leaders and transform organizations. In this program, you will learn from globally renowned scholars as well as real-word leaders with expertise in their fields.

As part of a European Initiative Cohort, students receive a 25% discount on tuition.  Students are invited to apply for an additional 50% discount using this form.

Requirements for All Applicants

1. Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
2. GPA 2.75 minimum.
3. Official Transcripts from all colleges where a degree was earned or is currently being earned.
• E-transcripts preferred. Address them to nancy.crane@wheaton.edu.
• Mail hard copies to Graduate Admissions Dept., Attn: Nancy Crane, 501 College Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.
• Applicants who have earned more than 25% of their degree from institutions outside of their degree-conferring school will be required to supply official transcripts for those credits in the event they are not explicitly listed on their original transcript with course names and grades. Graduate Admissions will reserve the right to request additional transcripts as may be needed to meet departmental requirements or demonstrate proof of program-specific prerequisites.
4. Application Form.
• Includes four essays and affirmations of the Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
5. Three Recommendations, which are online forms. Letters are accepted as supplements to the forms.
• Academic: An instructor from whom you have taken a class preferred.
• Pastoral: Can be a Christian leader who is not a pastor.
• Professional: A person with whom you have had a supervisor-employee relationship, which can be in a non-paid context.
6. Resumé: Chronological overview of professional, ministry, and/or volunteer experiences.
7. $30 non-refundable application processing fee.

Additional Requirements for International Students

International students, and permanent residents of the US whose native language is not English, are required to take either the TOEFL iBT Test,  IELTS Academic Test or Duolingo English test with the minimal scores indicated below:

TOEFL iBT Test: 80 with at least 18 in each category

IELTS Academic Test: 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each category

Duolingo English Test: 105

Wheaton College requires those who attended international schools to submit an international transcript evaluation completed by an international credential evaluation service who is a current member of National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). We recommend World Education Services or Educational Credential Evaluators or SpanTran. Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary level schools attended outside the U.S. from which a degree was earned or is currently being earned. In the case where 25% or more of a student’s earned degree was comprised of transfer credits from another institution, the student must also submit an official transcript for the institution from which the credit originated for evaluation through WES or ECE. The report must include general equivalency, course by course evaluation, and grade point average (GPA). 

You may choose an evaluation report that includes a copy of your transcript; or you may have your school(s) send us official transcripts directly in a sealed envelope. You are recommended to start the process a few months before the application deadline. Be sure to submit official transcripts from all post-secondary level schools, outside the U.S., from which a degree was earned or is currently being earned. Both places charge one fee no matter how many degrees you submit for review.
