Thomas Douce
Ph.D. Student
I am a 4th year PhD student in clinical psychology. I grew up in Ecuador and spent some years in Canada before starting this program. Prior to studying psychology, I had a career in biomedical research, indulged my interest in theology, and received some pastoral training. I love getting to know people and I want my practice as a psychologist to take thoughtful account of the whole person, their culture and context, and what is meaningful to them. As a broadly curious person with wide-ranging interests, I chose to be on the generalist track. However, clinically, I have a special interest in trauma. My research interests generally pertain to how mental and spiritual health come together – both within a person and in how psychotherapy is practiced.
