About Joy
Joy Chilala Matthews has been serving in the Intercultural Arts and Media office, College Union in particular for a year and a half now. She recently got married to her kind husband Wesley Matthews. Joy was born and raised in Zambia and moved to Michigan in 2019 to study social work at Cornerstone University. She loves building community through event planning and opening up her home to others who both share and don't share similar beliefs. Her desire to be in student development became evident in undergrad as she served as a Resident Assistant for two years and as a diversity intern planning campus wide events to showcase the beauty of culture. In her free time, Joy loves playing card games, making videos, trying out new food, cooking and going to new places.
