Monthly Merit Highlights

Wheaton College uses a platform called Merit to publish and share student stories with students’ hometown newspapers, government representatives, and local high schools. Each year, we use Merit to highlight students' participation in sports teams and clubs, performances in drama and theater, and academic honors and awards. 

Here are some of this month’s top Merit stories:

Wheaton College Freshman Joel Pierce Named NCBWA Division III Rookie of the Week

Wheaton College freshman baseball player Joel Pierce was named Division III Rookie of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCWBA). Pierce earned the national award for helping lead Wheaton to a recent 2-1 victory over conference rival Illinois Wesleyan.

Wheaton College Track and Field Athletes Named Division III All-Americans

Six Wheaton Thunder athletes were recognized as NCAA Division III All-Americans during the 2018 Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Wheaton College Women's Chorale Tours Minnesota and Iowa During Spring Break

The Wheaton College Women's Chorale spent spring break in Minnesota and Iowa. During their week-long tour, they performed public concerts, led worship for several church services, and performed at area high schools.
