The College earned the #45 spot on the magazine’s list of the “Top 50 Overall College Values,” moving up four spots from #49 from last year’s ranking.

"Wheaton has remarkable outcomes, such as graduation rates, academic quality, placement rates, and one of the lowest loan default rates among all colleges and universities in the country," said Wheaton College Chief Enrollment Management Officer Silvio E. Vazquez. "Our #45 ranking with Kiplinger recognizes what we know to be true of our outstanding institution."

Introduced in 1998, the Kiplinger rankings are based on objective measurements of academic quality and affordability.

"Our rankings—which weigh affordability alongside academic quality—are designed to help families see how their full array of college options stack up," said Kaitlin Pitsker, associate editor of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. "We start with a universe of nearly 1,200 schools, then trim the list based on measures of academic quality, cost and financial aid data. This year’s list features recurring winners, as well as rising stars and new additions, all of which are worth a look."--Emily Bratcher
